2K Sports Major League Baseball series (MLB 2K) is a series of Major League Baseball video games, developed by Visual Concepts and Kush Games, and published by 2K Games. There have been ten games in the series: 2K4, 2K5, 2K6, 2K7, 2K8, 2K9, 2K10, 2K11, 2K12, and 2K13. All games were created for each MLB season. The series was created in 2004 after Visual Concepts teamed up with ESPN. Visual Concepts called the series World Series Baseball in years prior to 2004 for the Dreamcast, with Pedro MartÃnez as the cover athlete. On January 9, 2013 MLB 2K posted a picture on their Facebook page with David Price as an apparent cover athlete with a MLB 2K13 logo and a release date of March 5.
Major League Baseball 2K13 is a Major League Baseball licensed baseball simulation video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K Sports and was released on March 5, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. The commentary is delivered by the trio of Gary Thorne, Steve Phillips, and John Kruk. David Price of the Tampa Bay Rays is the game's cover athlete.
2K confirmed for the second straight year there will be a 2K combo pack that includes MLB 2K13 and NBA 2K13. NBA cover will only feature Kevin Durant on it instead of the trio of Kevin Durant, Blake Griffin and Derrick Rose. Its retail price was $79.99 and was released on March 5.
There has been no gameplay or game mode additions compared to MLB 2K12 but this years edition is missing online leagues. This is most likely because 2K only had four months to make the game due to the contract expiration.
