Game of Thrones is an American medieval fantasy television series
created for HBO by David Benioff and D. B. Weiss. The series is loosely
based on author George R. R. Martin's best-selling A Song of Ice and
Fire series of seven fantasy novels; HBO's overall series' title is
derived from the first novel. The series debuted in the U. S. on Sunday
evening, April 17, 2011 and was picked up for a second season on April
19th.
The fourth season of the fantasy drama television series Game of Thrones premiered on April 6, 2014, on HBO.[1] It is adapted primarily from the second half of A Storm of Swords, along with elements of A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons, all novels from the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R. R. Martin.[2]
